Mt. KAMPALILI



Mount Kampalili has an elevation of 2,396 meters above sea level. Situated in Manay, no one had previously reached the peak because of the steepness of its rock formation. The Mandaya tribe living in the area called Mount Kampalili as “Forbidden Mountain.” Many mountaineers had tried to climb Mount Kampalili before but they returned to their base frustrated.MATI CITY, Davao Oriental (PNA) – Six mountaineers from this city became the first group who successfully set foot on Mount Kampalili, Davao Oriental’s highest mountain and considered one of the most dangerous and most difficult mountains to climb in the country.
