Mt. KAMPALILI



Mount Kampalili has an elevation of 2,396 meters above sea level. Situated in Manay, no one had previously reached the peak because of the steepness of its rock formation. The Mandaya tribe living in the area called Mount Kampalili as “Forbidden Mountain.” Many mountaineers had tried to climb Mount Kampalili before but they returned to their base frustrated.MATI CITY, Davao Oriental (PNA) – Six mountaineers from this city became the first group who successfully set foot on Mount Kampalili, Davao Oriental’s highest mountain and considered one of the most dangerous and most difficult mountains to climb in the country.

KAWA KAWA FALLS



One of Davao Oriental’s most bragged about and most visited waterfalls is named “Kawa-Kawa”, which derived from kawa (a local term for a huge pan). Surrounded by a thick forest of century-old trees and rare orchids, the trek alone to reach the falls is already truly unforgettable. Parola of Gov. Gen.



Parola or Light House at Cape San Agustin is situated at the southernmost tip of the Philippine map particularly at sitio Talisay, barangay Lavigan, this municipality. It serves as a guide to sailors in their navigation. The vicinity of the Lighthouse has an estimated area of two thousand one hundred eighty six (2,186) sq. meters. So far, three (3) lighthouses were already built on its premises. The oldest light house has an estimated height of 50 ft. from the ground while the second one, an umbrella type, has 80 ft.. Both are not functional at present. The newly constructed and functional light house in white paint is 100 ft. tall.

PUJADA ISLAND


Pujada Island is located in Mati, Davao Oriental. A 30 minute
boat ride from the Mati seaport will bring you to the island.
But a shorter 10 minute route can be followed from the town

Mt. Hamiguitan



Mount Hamiguitan is a mountain located in the province of Davao Oriental. It has a height of 1,620 meters (5, 314.96 ft.). The mountain and its vicinity has one of the most diverse wildlife populations in the Philippines. Among the wildlife found in the area are Philippine eagles and several species of Nepenthes. Some of the latter, such as the Nepenthes peltata, are endemic to the area. The mountain has the only protected forest in the Philippines, with an estimated area of 2,000 hectares. This forest is noted for its unique pygmy forest of century old trees in an ultramafic soil, with many endangered, endemic and rare species of flora and fauna.
The Mount Hamiguitan Range, with an area of 6,834 hectares (68.34 km2), was declared a national park and Wildlife Sanctuary in 2003.In 2009, the provincial officials of Davao Oriental submitted the park for listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

ALIWAGWAG FALLS


It is a series of 84 falls appearing like stairway to heaven with various heights among the steps ranging from 6 to 110 feet. One step is measured 72 feet and another is 67 feet. Overall Aliwagwag Falls is 1,110 feet of cascading energy and 20 meters in width. All these in the midst of virgin forest. River at the foot of the falls. 13 rapids to cross.
